Playing Poker at Ignition Casino

Ignition Casino is a leading poker site open to residents of the United States and Australia, so it’s definitely worth checking out for players in these parts of the world. It’s a member of the PaiWangLuo Network, which is the new name for the old and trusted Bodog Network. This poker destination is renowned for the softness of the games, which is undoubtedly helped by the fact that there’s an attached casino that draws in any number of action gamblers to the tables. Some partner brands also contain sportsbooks, and we all know how much sports bettors love to gamble.

Cash games exist from $0.02/$0.05 to $10/$20 if you play No Limit Texas Hold’em, Pot Limit Omaha or Pot Limit Omaha/8. Limit poker fans can instead sample the LHE, Limit Omaha Hi and LO/8 gameplay at stakes from $0.05/$0.10 up through $30/$60.

Zone Poker is Ignition’s version of fast-fold poker: the first such variant to appear in the U.S. market. In Zone, you move instantly to a new table and get new hole cards whenever you fold a hand, which speeds up the pace of the game considerably and reduces waiting time. Zone can be found at blind levels up to $2.50/$5.00.

Sit n’ Go Poker

Sit n’ go tourneys abound from $1 + $0.10 up to $200 + $14. There are NL Hold’em, PL Omaha and PL Omaha/8 contests listed. They’re offered in the traditional 2-, 6- and 9-player sizes although a few multi-table games are spread too. Unique forms of SNG that are rare at competing sites include Beginner matches, which pay out more spots than usual, and Triple Ups, which are kind of like the widespread Double or Nothing format but reward the top third of the field rather than half.

Jackpot Sit & Go is the newest addition to the Ignition poker catalog. It uses randomized multipliers to determine what the prize pool will be. The highest multiplier is 1,200, which leads to a pot of $72,000 at the top buyin value of $60. These Jackpots pay out only to the winner except if one of the top three multipliers (1,200, 240 or 120) is hit. In this case, second and third places also receive a portion of the cash.

The multi-table tournament schedule at Ignition promises more than $1.5 million in guaranteed prizes per week. The headline event is the $100,000 Gtd on Sunday afternoons, which costs $150 + $12 to enter. Several times per year, there are special series of tournaments, like the Golden Spade Poker Open and the Black Diamond Poker Open. These occasions present the opportunity to play in dozens of events, across a wide array of poker formats, for total payouts running well into the seven-figure range.

Traffic on the PaiWangLui (Bodog) Network

Ignition is the most well-trafficked internet poker room for Americans and Australians, and it’s in 8th place overall among all worldwide online operators. There are around 1,000 players at the cash game tables on average with peaks of around double this figure. We must caution you, though, that these numbers are just estimates; because of the unusual features of the Ignition software (see “Software and Trackers” section below), it’s very hard to get accurate info on the number of players active at any given time.

Most of the cash game traffic is for No Limit Hold’em and Pot Limit Omaha. Limit games do attract quite a few users, more so than at other U.S.A.-facing sites, but you might have to be willing to sit at a range of stakes and wait several minutes before an opponent joins you. Once tables get started, they tend to fill up within a reasonable timeframe. Sundays are the busiest day of the week for tournaments, which is about what you’d expect.

Ignition Poker itself is open only to those in the United States and Australia. However, through its network partners, this rather limited geographic reach is expanded to include Canada, Asian markets, like China and Vietnam, and Latin American countries, like Mexico and Brazil.

There’s a noteworthy absence of Europeans because not a single user anywhere on the continent is able to register for a new account at any PaiWangLuo Network member organization.

Software at Ignition Casino

Ignition has download installers for both Windows and Mac. A web-compatible mobile client also exists, and because it loads directly in your web browser, there’s no download required. All game varieties and formats present in the regular download client are also listed in the mobile lobby.
While most online poker software tends to be somewhat similar across the industry, this isn’t true of Ignition. As part of its recreational player model, it has implemented certain features that aim to protect casual users from the depredations of skilled grinders.

The most prominent difference between this site and most others is the fact that all tables are anonymized. You cannot see any screennames in any ring game, SNG or tournament. Players are referred to as Player 1, Player 2, et cetera depending on the seat they occupy in a cash game or the order in which they joined a tourney.

Ignition has created a Quick Seat interface that allows you to specify the stakes and type of game you wish to enjoy, and it brings you automatically to a seat in a matching game. Unlike at competing rooms, using this element of the software is mandatory. There is no traditional cash game lobby view, so you cannot select your table.

The removal of table selection and the impossibility of observing your rivals’ play across multiple sessions blunt some of the advantages of professional players. However, this is offset by the fact that these factors have led to a butter-soft poker economy. Simply put, the games here are noticeably easier than at a standard internet poker room.

Another factor leading to games full of inexperienced players is the limit of up to just four cash games open at the same time. Thus, serious card sharks who are accustomed to managing 8, 10, 12 or even more tables simultaneously must either be content with fewer or seek out another place to play.

As a consequence of the way Ignition does things, long-term tracking of opponent stats is impossible. However, PokerTracker 4 has a free add-on hand grabber that lets you capture your own play for future review, and it can also display a HUD based on stats from the current session only. Holdem Manager 2 lacks this native Ignition support and instead must rely on outside hand history converters to work, in even a limited fashion, with this online card room.

The supported deposit methods include credit cards, and you can get a withdrawal by check. However, there may be fees levied on these processors depending on the number of transactions you make and the interval of time between them.

To be assured of zero fees all the time, we advise you to use one of the two crypto-currencies accepted at Ignition. They are Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash. Ignition never levies any surcharges on deposits or cashouts made via these digital coins, and most payouts are successfully concluded within 48 hours after request.

Rake at Ignition Poker

The rake in Ignition Poker cash games is 5% across the board at every stake level in both big-bet (NL/PL) and fixed-limit formats. It’s taken in intervals of $0.01 for every $0.20 in the pot. The rake caps vary from $0.10 for $.05/$.10 FL games up to a maximum of $4 in NL/PL games with six or more players at stakes of $0.10/$0.25 and up.

Sit & go house fees range from 10% for lower-stakes and regular-speed contests down to 5% for some of the bigger games especially turbos and hyper turbos. Multi-table tournaments charge the standard 10% for most games with the expected rake breaks at, for example, $100 + $9 and $150 + $12. Lottery-style Jackpot Sit & Gos extract fees across the entire spectrum of stakes and multipliers at a rate of 7 percent.

Rakeback and Points-to-Tickets System

There’s no flat-rate rakeback offered by Ignition Poker, but there is a points-to-tickets system. As you play poker, you’ll get poker points. You can then exchange them for poker tournament tickets and casino bonuses at a rate of about 1 – 2 percent rakeback although occasionally, there are superior deals to be had amounting to perhaps 4 percent rakeback.

Far more profitable is the Ignition Casino Poker 100% up to $1,000 welcome bonus. If you fulfill the conditions for the entire maximum bonus, you can earn an RB rate of 30% in sit-and-gos and tournaments. The cashback percentage in ring games is slightly less. Because of the way the bonus is paid out in tiers as you reach certain poker point thresholds, it’s actually more valuable during its initial few stages. For instance, the first bonus payment of $5 is issued after you generate $5 in fees for an effective rakeback figure of 100 percent.
