Poker can be a complex game full of strategy and psychology. While there is some luck involved, the best players bend good fortune in their favor. It’s why the very best players have been able to forge professional careers and earn millions of dollars.

Whether you are a complete beginner still to learn how the game of poker works, or you’re a more experienced player looking to learn new skills and take your game to the next level, taking a poker course can make a huge difference.

But with so many courses on the market and each proclaiming to make you the next Daniel Negreanu, which ones can you trust?

Here are five tried and tested poker courses are guaranteed to sharpen your skills.

PokerStars School

As the undisputed king of the online poker world, that controls more than two-thirds of the online poker market, PokerStars unsurprisingly has a large library of courses to choose from inside their PokerStars School.

At present, there are 21 courses available to choose from inside the PokerStars School, including a 22-lesson Poker Basics Video Course; courses for specific types of poker games like Omaha, Stud, No Limit Hold’em, and Texas Hold’em; courses on poker mindset; odds and probabilities; and theories and concepts.

There are also courses that focus on how to play online poker as well as table and live tournament play. However, if you are interested in blackjack we recommend BetAmerica’s guide: https://extra.betamerica.com/casino/blackjack/how-to-play/

Some of the courses are broken down into video modules while others are in written format. The best part? Every course is completely free.

Upswing Poker

Upswing Poker is one of the most prominent online poker resources on the market and it is their huge library of courses that is its biggest appeal.

There are three free courses available, comprising eight preflop charts, a guide to 20 rules to follow in 3-Bet Pots, and the 10 Laws of Live Poker which takes you through some of the most popular tactics to deploy at a live table.

However, it is Upswing Poker’s premium courses that really stand out. The most prominent of the courses is the Upswing Lab – a membership and subscription course taught by professional players Ryan Fee and Doug Polk. The Lab reveals the secrets of the pros to make you a better No Hold’em player, whether you play in live tournaments or online. However, at $99 per month, it is for serious players only.

Upswing also has a number of Advanced Courses taught by other professional players, each course for a one-time fee of $999.

Poker Coaching

When deciding on a poker course, then you can’t go wrong by choosing one led by one of the best players in the world. Poker Coaching has been created by Jonathan Little, a two-time World Poker Tour champion.

But not content with offering just his own knowledge, Little has enlisted a group of superstar poker players to be coaches on his courses, including Jonathan Jaffe – also a World Poker Tour champion – Faraz Jaka, Matt Affleck, and Tristan Wade. Including Little, there are nine pro players within his Poker Coaching course that will help elevate your game.

Poker Coaching consists of more than 130 video tutorials, over 650 interactive quizzes, ongoing homework challenges, and regular live coaching webinars.

The standard Poker Coaching Membership is $39 per month and the Premium Membership costs $99 per month.

MasterClass – Daniel Negreanu

MasterClass has taken the world of online courses by storm in recent years by enlisting some of the biggest figures in their respective industries to teach us the skills that made them so successful.

So when MasterClass launched a poker course, who else were they going to recruit than Daniel Negreanu? The Canadian is one of the greatest poker players in history with six World Series of Poker Bracelets and two World Poker Tour championship titles to his name.

In total, there are 38 video tutorials – some are short, four-minute review videos while others are more in-depth at nearly 30 minutes long. With this being MasterClass, the production quality is extremely high and the course is tailored mainly towards beginners and inexperienced poker players.

MasterClass costs $180 per year but it will give you access to its entire library of courses. So after you’ve mastered poker like Daniel Negreanu, you can learn how to be a world class chef like Gordan Ramsey, a guitar star like Carlos Santana, or bestselling author like James Patterson!

Raise Your Edge

In terms of its general poker courses, there is nothing unique or stand out to the products offered by Raise Your Edge compared to all of the courses detailed above.

However, where Raise Your Edge does stand out is its Private Coaching resources. For players who want a one on one coaching experience, there are six professional poker coaches available to give you the ultimate coaching course.

Be warned, it is not cheap. Individual lessons cost between $150-200 per hour but for serious and experienced players looking to gain an edge before a big cash prize tournament, Raise Your Edge could help make the difference.
